2019 Fall Plant Sale results

September 22, 2019 by Michael Caron

By Bobbe O’Brien & Sue Walz

The sun was shining early on Sept. 21st, for our Fall Plant Sale.  It turned out to be the same wonderful weather we had for the spring sale.   We had lots of plants to sell and we were very successful.  The proceeds of the sale were:

  • Plant Sales        $ 1,167
  • Raffle                  $    222
  • For a total of:  $1, 389!

Our many wonderful plant donors and volunteers for the sale were: Mark & Diane Scott, John Counter, Sharon Ostrander-Lepine, Bobbe O’Brien, Beverly Wodicka, Emily Gallivan, Marcie Stock, Peter Jez, Harriet Tatro, Marlies Stoddard, Suzette Jones, Gil Billings, Gerrit Stover, Claire Baker, Darren McQuillan, Dawn Ackley, Deborah August, Linda Bush, Roger Anderson, Molly Goodwin, Sue Walz, Dianne McLane, Marty Klein,  Michael Caron,  Wendy Hammerle, for gourds, Cheryl Stevens, Deb Bombard, and Lynn Heady for Valley Bloomers plants and, our President, John Bator .

We are particularly grateful to David Stauffer from Easthampton Feed who donated the many succulent plants which went like hotcakes! And to Bart Estes for donating the beautiful cherry bench and donating $120, to Don and Valerie McQuillan for beverages, snacks and gourds, to Roger Perras for the lovely bird houses, to Sue Bishop and Terry Perrea for the raffle items, to Easthampton Savings Bank for displaying the first prize and selling tickets and a special thanks to Ed Procon for processing the cash.

We would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped not only to lug all the plants from John Bator’s yard including John himself, his son Scott, Chris Zagars, Fred Andressen and the many volunteers who helped pot up the plants prior to sale.  Thank you all!  As always we are very grateful to Mike Superson of Big E’s Supermarket for putting up the tent and supporting the Trust each spring and fall.  Thank you, Mike!  The very happy raffle winners were:  Deborah August, first prize; Annette Szcgiel, second prize Bill Burgart, third prize and Sandy Mumblow, fourth prize.
