2021 Fall Plant Sale results

October 4, 2021 by Michael Caron

It was much nicer weather for this fall October day compared to the Spring Plant sale. A steady stream of patrons bought plants throughout the day at the Easthampton City Hall parking lot. A memorial bench was also on display with information about the various sites where they are already being installed.  Proceeds from all sales totaled $1246.  Plants sold totaled $794 and raffle ticket sales totaled $217. Memberships totaled $185 and donations totaled $50. Thank You to everyone that participated!

Fall membership drive!

September 13, 2021 by Michael Caron

If you are enjoying the lovely trails the Pascommuck Conservation Trust preserves and maintains in Easthampton, think about joining us for our fall membership drive! If you have friends that also enjoy the outdoors and love hiking and conserving open space talk to them about joining. We would love to add 50 new members! You can join for as little as $6. We are also looking for volunteers to help with the plant sale, trail maintenance, and to join Board committees and serve on the Board. We have some open spots on the Board/committees, and are especially looking for folks from diverse backgrounds, those who are new to the outdoors, as well as experienced outdoor enthusiasts. We are a small local organization established since 1982 and have been fulfilling our mission of preserving, protecting, and making accessible Easthampton’s natural resources.

Memorial benches available at various sites to honor loved ones or promote a business and support PCT

May 31, 2021 by Michael Caron

Pascommuck Conservation Trust has 15 beautiful sites waiting for beautiful benches. We want to add to the welcome our conservation areas offer visitors as we look forward to 2022 and celebrating 40 years of conservation.
Your dedicated donation of $750 to $3500 will purchase a unique bench, pay for a commemorative plaque, AND add to our Stewardship Endowment for the next 40 years.
The Endowment generates income to help cover such costs as keeping trails clear of downed trees, annual mowing to maintain bird habitat, rebuilding bridges & steps, and fighting invasive plants — all critical to ensuring our conservation areas remain welcoming, beautiful, and ecologically healthy.
An informational brochure can be downloaded here for further information.

If you would like further information and to talk with someone at PCT please use our contact form.

Styles of benches available

Pascommuck Conservation Trust has no paid staff, meaning your gifts always go directly towards protecting land, maintaining our conservation areas for public access and habitat protection, and the few unavoidable expenses such as accounting necessary to keep operating.
We have also relied almost entirely on board & volunteer hours for property upkeep. But in recent times, the added burdens of damage from severe weather, aging board members, and increased use of our conservation areas has made it necessary to supplement our own time
with contracted part-time assistance, particularly for any work requiring specialized expertise or involving heavy equipment.
We are asking for your help in building a modest endowment to supplement our regular fundraising and cover not only a portion of those contractor fees, but also materials for replacement or new bog bridges, steps, etc., clearing downed trees off trails, sign maintenance, enhancement of habitat for wildlife and native plants, and other ongoing
stewardship.
